USACM Announces Travel Awards to WCCM9

The United States Association for Computational Mechanics has established fellowships to support students and post-doctoral fellows to attend and present a talk at the 9th World Congress on Computational Mechanics/APCOM to be held July 19-23 in Sydney, Australia

Each awardee will be reimbursed for travel expenses up to $1200 (registration fee is considered a travel expense).

Eligibility

Student Travel

To be eligible for a student travel award, the applicant must be a current graduate student at a US institution. The applicant must have an abstract accepted to the World Congress and must present the talk during the Congress. Reimbursement for travel will be made to the student upon presentation of travel receipts at the Congress.

Post-Doctoral Travel

To be eligible for a post-doctoral travel award, the applicant must have received their Ph.D. (or highest terminal) degree no earlier than 2005 and must be a post-doctoral fellow at a US university. The applicant must have an abstract accepted to the World Congress and must present the talk during the Congress. Reimbursement for travel will be made to the post-doctoral fellow upon presentation of travel receipts at the Congress.

Application procedures

Submit a copy of the submitted abstract (and confirmation of submission) and a one page (maximum) curriculum vitae with name of current advisor, no later than February 15. Awards will be announced by February 28th. Send information to:

Selection:

Selection will be made based upon assessment of the abstract and on geographic and research topic distribution.
